EMERY'S MEMORIES...OF
DOTTIE AND SHELLY
After 40 years in the
business, and 3000+
hours, DJ and host Ralph
Emery has released his
memories on cd.
"Emery's Memories" is a
46 disc collection of
interviews he's done
over his 40 years in the
entertainment business.
These are radio
interviews, not from his
TNN/Nashville Now/Pop
Goes The Country shows.
These interviews were
recorded and released to
radio stations on 33 1/3
long play records.
These shows have been
edited, but still have
some great stories!
You can learn more about
the set or place an
order by visiting

"The

smooth,"
Shakespeare
wrote
in A
Midsummer
Night's
Dream.
That's
certainly
true
of
the
affairs
in
these
classic
country
love
songs:
they're
filled
with
broken
promises,
shattered
relationships,
and
sharply
felt
self-pity.
On

some
of

COUNTRY
SUNSHINE--A
TRIBUTE
TO
DOTTIE
WEST
WEBSITE
(2007)
It
saddens
me
to
report
that
Brad,
the
owner
of
Country
Sunshine,
A
Tribute
to
Dottie
West,
has
decided
to
go
off-line.
Brad's
site
was
the
first
(and
really
only)
place
for
Dottie
fans,
and
it
inspired
me
to
share
my
love
for
Dottie,
as
well.
Brad
has
been
a
wonderful
friend
for
the
past
four
years
and
I've
greatly
enjoyed
his
stories
and
passion
for
Dottie
and
keeping
her
legacy
alive.
He
can
take
satisfaction
in
knowing
that
he
was
a
main
instrument
in
helping
to
achieve
that.
We
will
miss
Brad
and
wish
him
much
luck
and
success
with
future
endeavors.
And
*hopefully*
one
day,
Brad
will
be
back!
God
bless
you,
Brad!

DOTTIE AWARDED 'LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD' FROM THE
NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL
Brandy T. has alerted me that Dottie was honored last
month at the Nashville Songwriter's Festival in
Nashville with their Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dottie was one of just a few 'girl singers' that wrote
and recorded their own songs. She penned two of
her biggest hits -- Here Comes My Baby Back Again
(which has been recorded over 100 times) and her
signature song, Country Sunshine. At the
time of her death in 1991, she had written over 400
hundred songs. Congratulations to Dottie and the
West family on this award! It was long overdue!
Lifetime Achievement Award
THANK YOU CHET FLIPPO!
Chet Flippo (music historian, writer, and columnist
for CMT.com) has written a piece in this week's
Nashville Skyline on CMT.com entitled "If I Ran
Nashville - It wouldn't be the same". Being a
traditional country music lover, I agree with what Mr.
Flippo says (and would help him in any way I could to
advance his ideas!) Anyway, the last entry he
makes is about the Country Music Hall Of Fame and that
he would speed up the process so those really
deserving would get in there. To my pleasure
(and surprise!) he mentions Dottie! Chet's been
around Nashville and music in general forever.
Maybe he can help and put in a good word to TPTB and
get Dottie in the Hall! Here's the link - check
it out for yourself!
